How to reduce Fuel Consumption Cost in Motorbikes

Due to the increase in the price of fuel, motorcyclists are now struggling to buy fuel. You might be wondering about tips on how to improve motorcycle fuel economy or how to save fuel cost of your motorbike? However, if you follow some things, you can run a motorcycle with less fuel consumption. As a result, the cost will be reduced.

Many people do not know how to reduce fuel consumption cost of motorcycles. It is possible to reduce the fuel consumption of a motorcycle if you are a little aware. By following the following points, fuel can be reduced on the motorcycle.

Wheel Air Pressure

Air pressure causes the wheel to weigh more or less. As the wheel size changes, the power of the motorcycle decreases. As a result, oil consumption is high while driving a motorcycle. For this, motorcycle tires should be checked regularly to maintain the appropriate wheel air pressure. Narrow tires need more air pressure than wide ones: Road tires typically require 80 to 130 psi (pounds per square inch); mountain bike tires, 25 to 35 psi; and hybrid tires, 40 to 70 psi.

Excess Weight

A motorcycle consumes more fuel when carrying heavier passengers or transporting goods. Consequently, nothing of excess weight should be carried on the motorcycle.

Damaged/Cracked Road

Motorcycles should avoid cracked roads to reduce fuel consumption. Repeated acceleration and deceleration of the motorcycle results in high oil consumption.

Brake frequently

The amount of oil consumed by riding a motorcycle at normal speed, the amount of oil consumed by frequent braking is much higher. Therefore, frequent braking should be avoided to reduce the fuel consumption of the motorcycle.

Keep pace

Driving a motorcycle at a certain speed reduces fuel consumption. Many people drive motorcycles over speeding or under speeding. Driving a motorcycle at low or high speed consumes more oil.

Cleaning the air filter

An important part of the motorcycle is the air filter. Many times the air filter gets clogged due to dust while driving on the road. If the air filter is dirty, less air enters the engine than it needs, resulting in less oxygen getting to the engine while burning the oil, so the engine consumes more oil.

Check chain

Chains should be checked regularly to reduce motorcycle fuel consumption. Excessively loose or tight motorcycle chains increase fuel consumption. So the right size motorcycle chain should be used.

Carburetor test

Oil enters the engine through the carburetor. And so when the dirt accumulates in the carburetor, the dirt also enters the engine and prevents it from filling the oil properly. Again, if the carburetor is not properly tuned, more oil enters the engine. As a result, oil consumption is high.
