Since boredom is one of the easiest ways to make our students check out, it’s up to us to find ways to make grammar interesting and possibly even entertaining (imagine that)!

How to make a grammar class fun and Interactive

I’m always on the lookout for ways to spice it up and to make it more fun for my students. Do you feel the same way?

Here are a few ways to make a grammar class fun and interactive:

Use games and activities

Instead of just lecturing, incorporate games and activities into the lesson to keep students engaged and motivated. For example, you could play a game where students have to identify the correct verb tense in a sentence or have students create their sentences using a specific grammatical structure.

Incorporate technology

Use technology to make the class more interactive and engaging. You could use apps like Quizlet to create quizzes or Kahoot to play interactive games.

Use real-life examples

Instead of just using textbook examples, use examples from everyday life to make the material more relevant to students. For example, if you are teaching verb tenses, you could use examples from current events or popular TV shows to illustrate the concept.

Encourage student participation

Encourage students to actively participate in the lesson by asking questions, volunteering to answer questions, and participating in class discussions. This helps keep students engaged and makes the class more interactive.

Use humor

Use humor to make the lesson more enjoyable and engaging. For example, you could use funny memes or GIFs to illustrate a grammatical concept or tell a joke related to the material.
