The country’s first metro rail will be launched in December. In the first phase, metro rail will run from Uttara to Agargaon. Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA) has published the full list of metro rail fares in a notification.

In the first phase, elevated trains will operate on the Uttara North- Agargaon route made up of nine stops. The urban railway network will eventually be expanded to Kamalapur via Motijheel, consisting of 17 stations over a distance of 20.1 km.

Dhaka Traffic Coordination Authority (DTCA) has published the fare list of how much money will be required to move from one station to another station. The list was published by DTCA on 8th September 2022. Dhaka Metro Rail Fare 2022 Chart is now available.

According to the published list, the rent from Diabari to Agargaon will be Tk 60. There are seven stations in this distance.

For the time being, the Dhaka metro train will operate directly from Uttara to Agargaon, with no stops in between. Service time is 8 AM to 12 PM ( 4 hours) and weekly off day is Tuesday.

But how much will it cost to travel on the metro rail? The minimum fare has been set at Tk 20, which will apply to a passenger who takes the train to go to the next station on the route.

After that, passengers will be charged Tk 5 per kilometer, which means if they travel from the network's northernmost point in Uttara to the southernmost point, Kamalapur, the journey would cost them at least Tk 100.

Besides, passengers will get 10% discount on using smart cards. People with special needs will get the benefit of special discounts every time they travel.
